Lizzie Lloyd is a Bristol-based art writer and researcher.
Her writing has written on the work of artists such as Alexis Soul-Gray, Niamh O’Malley, Wood & Harrison, Katie Paterson, Laura Lancaster and Tim Knowles and been commissioned by William Hine, CAMPLE LINE, Temple Bar Gallery and Studios, Marc Fassiaty Video Fund, Workplace Gallery, Field Art Projects, New Art Projects, Foreground, KARST, and Exeter Phoenix among many others.
She facilitates specialist art writing workshops – designed for practitioners, industry professionals and students – previously at a-n The Artists Information Company, Hauser and Wirth Somerset, Cultivator, and Index The Swedish Contemporary Art Foundation among others.
She has contributed to a number of art magazines and journals, including Art Monthly, artnet, Art Review, and Journal of Contemporary Painting.
She is Senior Lecturer in Fine Art /Art and Writing at UWE Bristol and since 2023 she has been Co-Editor in Chief of Journal of Art and Writing (Intellect).
She is founder of WITTA a project exploring relationships between art and writing, which she co-runs with Kit Poulson.
Her doctoral thesis 'Art Writing and Subjectivity: Critical Association in Art Historical Practice' was completed in 2019 at University of Bristol.
